Studio Ghibli is a Tokyo-based animation film studio founded in 1985 by directors Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki. The studio has produced more than twenty feature-length films, many of which have garnered numerous awards and critical acclaim, including My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. Seven of Studio Ghibli’s films received Academy Award® nominations for Best Animated Feature, with two wins. The Boy and the Heron was awarded the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and the Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature in 2024. The studio received the Honorary Palme d’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
